Accessibility statement

The Department of Computational Biological Chemistry of the University of Vienna is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Austrian Web Accessibility Act (Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz, WZG), which implements Directive (EU) 2016/2102. This accessibility statement applies to the website www.mdy.univie.ac.at. The central websites of the University of Vienna have their own accessibility statement.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with conformance level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and with the European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below. The web pages themselves were revised in October 2026: they work with the keyboard and with screen readers, adapt to small screens and to enlarged text, contain no scripts, cookies or third-party content, and pictures have text descriptions.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not (fully) accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility requirements

  • PDF documents published from 2018 on (slides of talks, the book of abstracts of the Visegrad symposium 2023) are offered as they are. In many cases we only have the PDF file and not its source, so headings, reading order and descriptions of figures may be missing. Links to PDF files are marked “(PDF)”. On request, we provide the information in an accessible form (see contact below).
  • Some older pages that are no longer linked from this website (former course and project pages) have not been revised. They will be revised or removed.

Content outside the scope of the WZG (§ 2 (3))

  • PDF documents published before 23 September 2018 (newsletters of the COST action CM1206, manual of ForConX) – § 2 (3) lit. a.
  • Content of linked external websites (publishers, university services, map providers), which we neither fund nor develop – § 2 (3) lit. e.
  • The map on the contact page is a picture; the address is also given as text – § 2 (3) lit. d.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 14 October 2026. It is based on a self-assessment: automated tests of all pages (HTML validity with the W3C Nu HTML Checker; contrast, headings, link texts, keyboard order, enlarged text and text spacing checked in a web browser, at desktop and phone widths) and a manual review of the content. The statement was last reviewed on 14 October 2026.
